Particulate Control
In biomass power plants, one of the major environmental concerns is the particulate emission. If the biomass power plant is located near household areas, particulate emission creates a lot of trouble to the public, resulting in opposition or protests for biomass power plant. Following are the methods used for particulate control namely:
Multicyclone: The particulate removal efficiency is low for Multicyclone. These days efficient MCs are manufactured with special materials to control the erosion.
Wet scrubber: Modern wet scrubbers are designed with compact space and are effective in particulate control with efficiency much higher than multicyclone.
ESPs: These are the most commonly used particulate control device when power plant size is minimum 5MW and has excellent particulate control efficiency.
Bag filters: These are alternative to electro static precipitators with comparable efficiency. But, they are not widely used when compared with ESPs.
Among all particulate control devices, ESPs are the most effective and commonly used for utility plants. For services related to particulate control, contact us.
